Mom

For some reason I was just really missing Mom this morning. Sometimes it just hits me that it would be really nice to pick up the phone and talk to her. Maybe it's because last Sunday was her birthday. Maybe because I was thinking about how Hannah's love for Halloween is much like hers. I really don't know what triggered it today. This picture was not even taken at Halloween, though. She would just do crazy things like that. Love you, Mom.

I love this picture, but most especially that it wasn't taken at Halloween. :) How fun! I'm sorry she's not close enough to call. There are some things that you just really need moms for. Even now, there are days when I'm sick that I would love nothing more than to be curled up on my mom's couch, having her bring me a sandwich or potato soup. You are such a great mom to your kids, Susan. You're carrying on a great legacy that she would be so proud of. :) Love ya!

Ditto...you are a great mom and I know she's proud of you. That pic was for the Cat Party. I never got to do those animal themed parties the family ladies did...wasn't old enough. I loved the pig one they did! You should post the pic of mom as Miss Piggy!

I really miss her too and wish I could call so many times. Sometimes though, when I ask out loud for her help, I seem to know what she would say. Maybe she's trying to talk to us all the time and maybe, just maybe, those thoughts are exactly what she's literally saying.

Sometimes I forget how beautiful your mom was. I often think of all the things your mom taught me and I am so grateful I knew her. Believe it or not, I even learned how to sing alto from her! I miss her too.

Actually, Kellee, I have a picture of her at the cat party, and I'm pretty sure this was a different time. There is another one taken with her dressed like this with Nana Maude. I remember this being just a random day that she was going visiting, and I assume from the other picture that she went to see Aunt Mattie and Nana Maude. She asked if I wanted to go with her, and I told her she was nuts. I wish I hadn't been such a normal teenager -- don't you know those ladies loved a visit from her!

I was looking for a picture of her dressed as Miss Piggy and I couldn't find it. Do you have one? I would love to have it.

I love that picture. Thanks for posting it. Your mom always made me and missy feel loved and welcomed, never ever judgmental. That meant a lot to us coming to a new place esp. at that point in our lives. You have the same sweet countenance, Susan!

I do have a pic of the pig one, but it's in a box. I'll try to remember to find it sometime. I had no idea she just went visiting like that, but that totally sounds like her!

Dito. Dito. and Dito. I love your mom! She taught me to sing Alto, too! I know she's super proud of you. I love that she went visiting like that. We should all try that, but maybe in November when Halloween has already passed. Anyone in?

I miss her, too. Yesterday when Kim & fam came for dinner, we had her Broccoli & Chicken casserole--hmmmmmm--wonderful! So we didn't have it on her birthday, but close enough! She's sure smiling on ya'll!!

Susan, think we could tag team our visiting teaching in costume? I'd love to see the reactions, wouldn't you? :)

Ha, Kristen! I would love it! And maybe doing it around Halloween would be a nice way to ease into the craziness. :)
