That's got to hurt

I don't think I've ever seen a clumsier kid than Nikki. She is forever tripping, and there doesn't have to be anything there for her to trip over. Yesterday, just to name the instances I can remember at the moment, she skinned her arm on the way into church. She ran right straight into the computer cabinet, and after she came over to show me where she got hurt she ran right back to the computer and did the same thing again. She fell off the couch, and then she fell while trying to get in her chair at dinnertime. Today she really did a number on her head. She was running to her room and ran right into a corner of the wainscotting (is that the right word?) in our living room that is just the same level as her forehead. That mark will be there for a while. I've been trying to think about what we should get her for her birthday in a couple of months. I'm thinking maybe a football helmet might be best.

haha! i love it! elise has been clumsier lately, but i think it is just "growing pains" and more a phase than anything. ian, on the other hand is just in his own world. he doesn't watch were he is going and is constantly running into walls, people, doors...anything that happens to be in his way!

I guess Nikki and Ian are on the same page. She is so focused on one thing that she can't pay attention to other things around her -- like the wall in front of her! It's funny to me though, because Hannah is typically the one who is off in her own little world. I believe Nikki will grow out of it, but Hannah ... we'll have to see.

what is it about some kids? i have a niece who is really accident prone. i don't even think its that she's in her own world like ian. she's just forever getting hurt on something. she's three and its rare that she doesn't have a knot on her head or a black eye or a busted lip that has just happened or is healing up! bless her heart!
