Black, black sheep

Nikki was singing "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" this morning while I was getting ready, and it was so cute that I just have to write down her version. I was really impressed because it's not a nursery rhyme that we do very often. I sang it to them last week, and this is how she remembered it:

Black, black sheep
And he had a bowl
One for the day
One for the little guy
Black, black sheep
And he had a bowl (and she kept repeating the last 2 lines)

that is sooooooo cute!!! its so funny how kids remember and interpret things.

elise loves singing "scripture power" that they're singing in primary. but instead of saying "scripture power, keeps me safe from sin", she says, "scripture power, keeps me safe from sense." its a little thing, but i think its adorable.

Elise will laugh at herself for that someday. That's cute.

It is funny to hear the kids' interpretation of what you're saying. Today I volunteered at the school for a couple of hours, and I got to play a rhyming game with a few of the kindergarteners. With their accents it was really hard for me to tell them that "train" and "bang" don't rhyme. The way they were saying it, it really did sound like it was rhyming!

And then to this day I have a hard time with the last line of "Silent Night" because when I was little I thought (and visualized) it was saying "heavenly peas" and I still think about that whenever I sing "heavenly peace."
