Pearl & her babies

Nate went out to take some pictures of the kittens yesterday. He said he had a hard time getting them to cooperate, but I think these are pretty cute.

Pretty soon they're going to be climbing out of the box, so it's getting close to time to take a closer look around at what they'll be able to get into around the garage.

I didn't think you'd have to baby proof for quite awhile! :)

Oh my goodness!!! They are soooooo adorable. I was just showing pictures to the kids. We definitely want one of the orange-ish brown ones. A baby of any kind is just adorable! I'll bet your girls love it!

They are so cute. I love kittens...too bad they grow up too fast. Have you found homes for all of them yet?

The girls were telling Jay the names of the kittens and Emma told us how one of Jacks eyes is still not open - Jay called him "one-eyed Jack". I thought it was kind of funny.

Elise, I'm so glad you are excited to have a kitten. They are three weeks old now, and they need to be about 6-8 weeks old before they will be able to leave their mom. I think as soon as they get big enough to eat kitten food instead of nursing from their mom you'll be able to take one home.

Jack's eye will open if Nate takes a warm washcloth and gently rubs it. Every time he takes a nap it closes up again. It's kind of sad. He was the last to open his eyes, and at first we thought he had a birth defect. I like Jay's name for him. =)

I was telling Julie about your kittens & she was SHOCKED that you had a cat! Should that surprise her?

HaHa, Kim, yes I'm sure Julie was definitely surprised. What a mother won't do for the love of her daughter! I'm not an animal hater but probably can't be classified as an animal lover either. I thought Pearl would be a great Christmas present for Hannah, and she was, but...
